Union High School Jazz Band-              "The Mello Yellows"

The Mello Yellows had the opportunity to play at the 2017 Union Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday night.

2017 ECMBDA CLINIC

Congratulations to Emily Williams, Paisley Sullivan, Jasmine Overton, Jasmine McDonald, Meredith Reid, Seth Sessums, and Matt Hennington on being selected to represent the Pride at ECMBDA clinic this year.

EAST CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE CLINIC 2017

Members of the Pride of Union Band participated in the 2017 East Central Community College Band Clinic this weekend. Left to right: Ethan Smith, Matt Hennington, Seth Sessums, Maggie Weeks, Emily Williams, Tyler Suggs, Eric Ogletree, Nate Moore, and Zane McElhenney.

Matt Hennington, Seth Sessums, and Zane McElhenney were awarded scholarships for being selected as first chair in the clinic. Congratulations to these Pride of Union members!

Congratulations to Seth Sessums on being selected to the 2016 Mississippi All-State Middle School Band. The All-State Band will train the week of May 25th-28th at the University of Southern Mississippi. Seth is an eighth grader at UMS and plays the tenor saxophone in the Pride of Union Band.

CONGRATULATIONS JOSH WALTON!

Josh Walton was recently elected as Mississippi's Senior Beta Vice President. He is a junior at UHS and is a member of the UHS football and power lifting teams. He also plays saxophone in the Pride of Union Marching Band.

JCJC Scholarships!!!

Madeline LeBlanc-flute, Mikayla Figueroa-trumpet,  Amanda Ricamore-flute, and Mollie Burkes-flute.

Madeline, Mikayla, Amanda, and Mollie participated in the 2016 Jones Community College Band Clinic this weekend. Due to their outstanding auditions they were offered full scholarships to Jones for the 2016-2017 school year.

Congratulations to the UHS Archery Team on winning their first meet on February 16th. The students pictured above are members of the archery team along with being members of the Pride of Union Band. Amanda Ricamore-flute, Mikayla Figueroa-trumpet, Ronnie Litchfield-clarinet, Madelyn Hedgepeth-manager, Ethan Smith-trumpet, Kyle Skinner-trumpet, Oliver Gray-tuba, Meagan Vance-clarinet, and Paisley Sullivan-Euphonium.

2016 WINTER CONCERT

The Union Middle School 5th and 6th Grade bands performed their winter concert on Thursday, February 11th. Both grades played a variety of music including scales, Christmas tunes, and a few concert pieces. Both groups did a terrific job!

2016 East Central Band Director's Association Clinic at Ridgeland High School.
