**All students have a monthly calendar in their binder given to them by their teacher for Reading/Math.  Please look at this periodically!!  This will be where homework assignments will be (if given as a whole class assignment), when tests are scheduled, or any other important dates!!  It is the responsibility of the student to make sure he/she copies the information given by the teacher from the board. 








 We will have a test on Chapter 1 Tuesday, January 15th. The vocabulary for chapter 1:
1.  meticulously
2.  intriguing
3.  threadbare
4.  jauntily
5.  dubious
6.  motley
7.  indignation
8.  imperiously

We will begin the next section in the book - Chapters 2-3 on Wednesday. 

Reading/Language Arts IXL Skills for the Week of Jan. 14-18:
G1, G3, K3, S1, and S2.


We will be reviewing transitive/intransitive verbs this week. 






We will be covering argumentative essays this week. 















***  The students must read and test on at least 2 AR books each nine weeks. This will be for a Reading test grade!!!  I will take the top two AR test grades and average them together for the Reading test grade at the end of the nine weeks. 

**The 3rd Nine Weeks begins this week!!!  Please make sure your child is reading!!

This week, we will continue working on solving equations- addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.   We will also begin working with inequalities.  The students will continue to work on Accelerated Math objectives and IXL objectives that have been assigned to them online.  We will work on these during class and power hour.


IXL Math Skills for the Week of Jan. 14-18
AA1, AA2, AA3, AA4, and AA5.  We will begin these Tuesday after the skills have been introduced.  The skills need to be completed by Friday.
