Registration for 2020-2021

Parents and Guardians,

It is time to register your students for the 2020-2021 school year.  We are altering our registration process this year to allow for more safety and time for planning.  First, let me emphasize that there is still great uncertainty about what school will look like in the fall.  That uncertainty means that it’s even more important than usual for us to go through a thorough planning process.  Right now, our plan is to offer a traditional on-campus learning experience in the fall.  Of course, we will make every effort to follow the guidelines for safety set forth by local and state health authorities, though we can’t clearly articulate exactly what those will be by August.  A second plan is to offer fully online distance learning for those who might not be comfortable sending students to school.  I want to be clear in saying that many waivers will need to be granted by the legislature and the Mississippi Dept. of Education for this online option to be a reality, but we want to plan for it and evaluate interest in it.  To accurately plan for both options, we need complete registration information.  In the registration packets discussed below, we will ask you to indicate your preference.

With the COVID-19 Pandemic, the state auditor has granted a waiver for returning students releasing them from providing proof of residency. Returning students whose addresses have not changed WILL NOT be required to provide the usual 2 proofs of residency this year.  New students and those who’ve moved WILL still need to provide 2 proofs of residency. 

Registration packets for all returning students will be distributed at the front of Union High School on the following dates:

These need to be returned to the secure dropbox at the front of Union High School by Wednesday, June 17, 2020, or mailed to Union High School, 101 Forest St., Union, MS 39365 by Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
