Scholarships and Financial Aid

Seniors and Parents of Seniors, be sure to check out the following scholarship or grant opportunities.  Please pay careful attention to qualifications and deadlines.  Click the link with each title to learn more, and please see Mrs. Rush with any questions or for more information.  

~ FAFSA

The most important thing to do is to make sure to complete your FAFSA.  My advice is always to take advantage of expert help at one of our FAFSA Days rather than attempting to complete it all on your own.

~ Higher Education Legislative Plan (HELP Scholarship).     

       - This is a grant for FULL TUITION to a Mississippi public  community college or university if you meet the requirements/qualifications.   Click the link to read about it.  Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors, if you will meet the income limitations, make sure you're taking the correct classes listed on the curriculum requirements.  If you do FAFSA Day with us, we will apply that day.

~ Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG) 

    - MTAG awards up to $500 per academic year during the freshman and sophomore years of college and $1,000 during the junior and senior years.  There is no income limitation/requirement.   If you do FAFSA Day with us, we will apply that day.

~ Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant (MESG) 

    - MESG awards up to $2,500 per academic year for students who have made a 29 or higher on the ACT.  If you do FAFSA Day with us, we will apply that day.

The Citizens Bank Scholarship.  

There's nothing to click on here,  but if you have A's on your report card, make sure to take your report card by Citizens Bank and be entered to win a $1,000 scholarship. 

~ Scholarship America 

This is a great website to search for many different scholarships. 

~ The Coca-Cola Scholarship (Due October 2) 

   The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. You must have a 3.0 GPA to apply.

~ The Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help rural students graduate college debt-free.  Click the link above to read about the requirements.  Application deadline is usually December 1. 

~ Nissan Scholarship 

    - This scholarship, sponsored by the Nissan Company, covers full tuition and provides additional funds for books and fees.  The ACT requirement is a 20; the GPA requirement is 2.5.  It also requires an essay and evidence of extracurricular activities.  Click the link for more information.

~ Fastweb Scholarship Search.

Fastweb is a free National Scholarship Database where you can create an account and search to find lots of scholarships, grants, and other financial aid opportunities. 

~ StudentScholarships.org

      This site is another database of scholarships.  It's full of scholarships by category; you just need to create an account to get started.
